Karen Riehl acted and directed in professional and community theatre for 30 years. Her many acting honors included the 1993 Indiana Community Theatre League's award for best actor in a supporting role. Karen began writing for publication twelve years ago. Five of her children's plays were published by Contemporary Drama Service. Six were commissioned for production by The Brownbag Players Children's Theatre of Mission Viejo, CA. Two of her plays, Alice in Cyberland and Getting Out of Salem, were award winners in national playwriting competitions. Her novel, Saturday Night Dance Club, was published in 2000. Her memoir, Love & Madness: My Private Years with George C. Scott, was published in 2003.
Karen lives with her husband, Richard, and their toy poodle, Olivia in Carlsbad, California.
